About Us
In 1997 Ernie took his first powered parachute flight and the love affair with flying began. He purchased his first plane and soon he had his wife Alice in the air with him. After flying in his back seat for a year, it was apparent to Alice that the guys were having way too much fun from the front seat so soon, she too became a pilot! It then became a family affair with two more Baugh brothers piloting planes and within a short while it seemed the entire Southwest Missouri region was filled with colorful chutes soaring the skies. From there, Sho Me Chute Flyers Club was formed in The Baugh garage and officers were elected. The plans for the flight park came a short while later and the park was established in 2000.
The growth in the park grew from one small hangar to what is now a 40 x 40 Hangar and a 40 x 80 club house, and camping with electricity. The first fly-in was held at Baugh flight park in 1999 and has grown in popularity and attendance from around the U.S. each year. So if your ever in the area "fly on over " for a visit. |
